Overview

MockFold is a browser-based packaging dieline editor. We collect the minimum information needed to run accounts and process payments, and the editor itself runs entirely in your browser. This page explains what we collect, why, and what your options are.

What we collect

Account data. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) stores your email address, an optional display name, and authentication metadata such as session identifiers and login timestamps. You can sign in with email + magic code; we don't store passwords.

Payment data. When you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your card details, billing address, and payment history. MockFold never sees or stores your card number. We only receive a customer ID and subscription status from Stripe.

Editor data stays on your device.Dielines, artwork uploads, fold keyframes, material settings, and saved project files are stored in your browser's local IndexedDB. None of it is uploaded to our servers, transmitted to third parties, or accessible by us. If you clear your browser storage, that data is gone. We have no copy.

Anonymous usage analytics. If enabled, we may collect anonymous page-view counts and aggregate performance metrics to understand how the site is used. No personally identifying information is included.

Why we collect it

  • To create and authenticate your account.
  • To process your subscription and apply Pro features.
  • To send transactional emails (sign-in codes, payment receipts, billing notices). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit opt-in.
  • To debug issues, prevent abuse, and operate the service securely.

Third-party processors

We rely on these providers to run MockFold. Each one acts as a data processor under our direction and has its own privacy practices:

  • Clerk for authentication and user management.
  • Stripe for subscription billing and payment processing.
  • Vercel for site hosting and edge delivery.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone outside the processors above except where required by law.

Cookies

MockFold uses essential cookies to keep you signed in (set by Clerk) and to remember your editor preferences (theme, view layout, autosave state), which are set by your browser's localStorage and not transmitted. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

Data retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we instruct Clerk to remove your authentication record and Stripe to cancel any active subscription. Stripe retains transaction history for the period legally required for tax and bookkeeping (typically seven years), even after account deletion.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects how your data is handled, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app.
