Account information

When you create an account, our authentication provider, Clerk, processes information such as:

• Email address.
• Optional display name.
• Account identifiers.
• Authentication and session information.
• Account creation and login timestamps.

MockFold does not store your password or authentication codes.

Payment and subscription information

When you purchase a subscription, your payment information is securely processed by Stripe (United States and Canada) or by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record for customers in all other countries.

MockFold may receive and store information needed to manage your subscription, including:

• Stripe or Paddle customer and subscription identifiers.
• Subscription plan and billing status.
• Subscription start, renewal, and cancellation dates.
• Payment status.
• Promotional discounts or coupon redemptions.

We do not store your complete payment card details.

Editor files and project data

MockFold uses a local-first editor.

Your dielines, artwork uploads, fold keyframes, material settings, and saved project files are stored locally within your browser's IndexedDB storage.

These files are not uploaded to MockFold's servers or shared with our service providers through normal editor operation.

If you clear your browser storage, locally stored files may be permanently lost. MockFold cannot recover files that have not been backed up.

Usage and product analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand website traffic, product usage, and how visitors interact with MockFold.

Depending on the service and your settings, analytics information may include:

• Pages visited.
• Browser and device information.
• Approximate geographic location.
• Referring websites.
• Feature interactions.
• Signup and subscription conversion activity.

We do not intentionally send your uploaded artwork or dieline contents to analytics services.

Account activity

We may record limited account activity to support onboarding, understand how our service is used, and improve the user experience.

This may include whether you have accessed the editor, used certain features, or started a paid subscription.

Where permitted, this information may also help us provide relevant educational content, product announcements, and subscription offers.

Email communication preferences

We may maintain information about communications sent to you, including:

• Email address and applicable account identifier.
• Marketing subscription preferences.
• Records of consent or another applicable basis for communications.
• Email delivery status.
• Unsubscribe requests.
• Limited email engagement information, such as link clicks, where tracking is enabled and permitted.

This helps us manage communications, prevent duplicate messages, respect unsubscribe requests, and understand the effectiveness of our emails.

Essential service emails

MockFold may send emails relating to your account and use of the service, including:

• Account welcome messages.
• Subscription confirmations.
• Billing and payment notifications.
• Important account or security updates.
• Responses to customer support requests.
• Material changes affecting your account or subscription.

These communications are necessary for the operation of your account or the administration of the service.

Promotional emails

Where you have opted in or we have another valid basis under applicable law, MockFold may send:

• Product and feature announcements.
• Tutorials and helpful tips.
• Subscription upgrade opportunities.
• Limited-time discounts and promotional offers.
• Occasional customer feedback requests.

Promotional communications may be tailored based on your subscription status and limited usage information.

Receiving marketing communications is optional and is not required to use MockFold.

Unsubscribing

Every promotional email includes a way to unsubscribe.

You can stop receiving marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a promotional email or contacting hello@mockfold.com.

We process unsubscribe requests in accordance with applicable law.

Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not prevent you from receiving essential service-related communications.

Clerk

Provides authentication, sign-in functionality, and account management.

Stripe

Processes subscription payments, manages billing, and handles payment information for customers in the United States and Canada.

Paddle

Acts as Merchant of Record for customers outside the United States and Canada: processes payments, manages billing, and calculates and remits sales tax and VAT.

Vercel

Hosts MockFold, delivers website content, and provides website analytics.

Resend

Provides email delivery and communication management, including transactional emails, promotional communications, delivery tracking, and unsubscribe management.

Google Analytics

Provides website and product analytics to help us understand how visitors interact with MockFold.

Essential cookies

Used for authentication, account sessions, and essential website functionality.

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to measure website traffic and interactions.

You can accept or decline analytics cookies using the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the site. Where required by law, analytics cookies stay off until you accept.

Local browser storage

MockFold stores editor preferences, settings, and project files locally using browser storage technologies such as localStorage and IndexedDB.

Locally stored project contents are not transmitted to MockFold's servers during normal editor operation.

Account information

Account information is generally retained while your account remains active.

If you request account deletion, we initiate removal of your authentication record and cancellation of any active subscription, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.

Billing information

Stripe, Paddle, and MockFold may retain transaction and billing records for applicable accounting, tax, and legal obligations.

Marketing preferences

We retain marketing preferences and relevant consent records as needed to manage communications and demonstrate compliance.

If you unsubscribe, we may retain a limited record of your email address and unsubscribe status to prevent unwanted future promotional messages.

Analytics information

Analytics data is retained according to the settings and retention periods configured with our analytics providers.

Editor data

Locally stored project files remain in your browser until removed by you, your browser, or the browser's storage management system.
